Our “boasting is not good” (1 Corinthians 5:6).
It is better for us to boast in the Lord - “Praise be to You, O Lord
.... Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power ... Now, our God, we
give You thanks, and praise Your glorious Name ... Everything comes
from You, and we have given You only what comes from Your hand .... O
Lord our God, as for all this abundance that we have provided for
building You a Temple for your Holy Name, it comes from Your hand, and
all of it belongs to You” (1 Chronicles 29:10-16).
“The Lord reigns, He is robed in majesty; the Lord is robes in majesty
and is armed with strength .... the Lord on high is mighty” (Psalm 93:1,4).
2 Chronicles 26:1-28:27 Help us, Lord, to learn from the failure of King Uzziah. He began well – “He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord … He set himself to seek God” (2 Chronicles 26:4-5). He lost his way – “When he was strong, he grew proud, and he was false to the Lord his God” ( 2 Chronicles 26:16). Help us, Lord, to become better people – not bitter people!
