Those
who were armed for battle received this message from the Lord: “Do not
be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is
not yours, but God’s” (2 Chronicles 21:15).
Now, we fight many battles. There will come a Day when these battles
will be behind us and we will share in the glory of God: “And just as we
have borne the likeness of the earthly man, so shall we bear the
likeness of the Man from heaven” (1 Corinthians 15:4-9).
The glory of the Lord will be revealed. There will be no king but the
Lord - “all the kings of the earth will revere Your glory” (Psalm 102:15).
What God did for His people, Israel, was very great. There is a striking contrast between their slavery in Egypt and their abundance in the promised land. God had multiplied His blessing upon them, just as Jesus did when He turned water into wine (John 2:1-11). If the blessing is to be maintained and increased, we must honour the Lord. We must cry to Him for blessing: "Hear my prayer, O God, listen to the words of my mouth." We must call upon Him with faith: "Surely God is my help; the Lord is the One who sustains me" (Psalm 54:2,4).
