The Lord blesses an obedient people (Deuteronomy 28:2). Our obedience to God arises from our thankfulness to Him (Luke 17:16). With grateful hearts, we make confession of our faith: āGod is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in troubleā (Psalm 46:1). To His people, God says, āBe still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nationsā (Psalm 46:10). God is exalted among the nations when His people are obedient people (Deuteronomy 28:9-10).
Psalm 48:1-14 Lord, we worship You in the place of worship ā āWithin Your Temple, we meditate on Your unfailing love.ā Help us to go out from there, and play our part in seeing that Your praise āreaches to the ends of the earthā (Psalm 48:: 9-11). How will other people know of Your love, if we donāt tell them? How will they find their way to Your House, if we donāt invite them? When we share Your Word with others, help us to remember Your promise: āMy Word ⦠will not return to Me empty, but will ⦠achieve the purpose for which I sent itā (Isaiah 55:11).
